Here are five simple things to consider when looking at a lead generation system:
1. Longevity - How long has the system been around?
What I’ve learned over the years is that any new program is RISKY! There’s no worse feeling than finding out that the program you’ve been promoting all over the Internet has gone out of business.
Stick with systems that have been in business several years. These are the companies that are in business for the long haul and know what they’re doing.
2. Teach - A good system should not only help you monetize your list (more on that later), but teach you how to become a better marketer.
If you want to make the BIGGER income you WILL have to become a better marketer.
If any system does NOT teach you how to market, you need to run the other way fast! It just shows they have no interest in you becoming better - only lining their pockets with your money.
Remember this...
If a system doesn’t teach you how to market, then that system has NO value.
3. Build Your List - Any good lead generation system will allow you to hook up your autoresponder service to their system so you can build your list - your biggest asset.
Any system that doesn’t let you list-build is a system you can cross of your list. After all, why would you want to send all your hard-earned traffic to the system owner so they can profit off of your hard work? Smart marketers don’t.
4. Customer Relationship Management - As a business owner, you need a way to send out personal emails to those that join your marketing funnel.
An autoresponder is of course necessary, but you also need an effective customer relationship management system so you can keep tabs on your leads, your conversations with them, and note where they are in your funnel.
You can end up paying a “pretty penny” for this service if you go through a through a third-party company like Salesforce (costs of $25 to $300/month).
What you may not know is that nearly most systems don’t have a built-in CRM feature and/or don't have it where you have access to your leads.
When you can get all of your necessary tools under one “umbrella” it makes it a lot easier to build your business not to mention it makes it a lot easier on your pocketbook.
5. Gives You a Track to Run On - The goal of any good system is to get you off to a faster start so that you can begin earning money a lot faster and easier.
A good system should have existing landing pages that you can use right out of the box.
In addition, it should have a landing page builder so that you can be unique and stand apart from the masses as you create your own landing pages.
Monetization
There should be ways for you to monetize your traffic that comes inside of your marketing funnel.
In most cases, you can earn a commission by getting people to join the system and/or buy the products recommended by the system itself.
Whichever way your system monetizes, you MUST make sure that there is value being given.
I’ve see far too many systems where the emphasis is only on making money and getting people to buy into the system.
This is the makings of an illegal money-making scheme. Going back to step 2, you see that every good system must teach marketers something of value or else the system has no value.
The only way to increase your trust and decrease skepticism with people is to be a person of integrity.
Be helpful and give value - even before money changes hands.
Look carefully at what you’re promoting - even down the the lead generation system that you choose to join with.
Your prospects are watching what you do and "sizing" you up to see if you're the kind of person they want to do business with.
