If you’re looking for Instagram marketing tips for businesses, but are getting overwhelmed with information overload, then you’ll want to read this…
You’re not going to do it…
There are tons of articles on the Internet that give you tons of Instagram marketing tips for your business.
The odds are, however, that you won’t do a single tip to completion at all.
Now, I’m not psychic and no I’m not spying on you as you sit in front of your desk shuffling papers around when you should be working on your business.
The reality of it all, is that nearly 95% of the Instagram articles out there are way to complicated- and worse yet, are not even remotely actionable by even the most ambitious marketer out there.
There’s just too much information – and most of which is not even broken down into bite-sized chunks for you to consume.
And you know what they say about people that are overwhelmed and/or are faced with too many decisions – they end up doing completely nothing at all.
So, if you’re sick of going from Instagram article to Instagram article hoping for some magical tip to jump out at you (and one that you can actually do), know that there are better ways to get a firm grasp on how to market on Instagram.
Actually, it all starts before you even set “foot” on Instagram itself.
Let me explain…
One of the biggest mistakes businesses make on Instagram (IG) happen way before they even get on Instagram!
It’s called being unprepared.
There’s no lack of businesses that have found that Instagram marketing a completed disaster – a complete waste of time.
Why do some businesses say Instagram was fruitless for them?
Because these same businesses went on Instagram “cold” without any planning at all and without being fully prepared for the challenge before them.
What I’m saying is that you can’t “wing” Instagram, nor any social media platform for that matter. If you want to successfully market on social media – get traffic, leads, and sales, you have to know what you’re doing – and you have to prepare for the “journey.”
You want successs with Instagram? Read on…
Here are four very simple things to consider when you want to successfully market on Instagram:
1.Get Schooled! – Education is the key to success with Instagram. In other words, don’t cheap you’re way out of having success in your business. Take the time to learn the ropes of Instagram.
Take a simple webinar – not an entire course right away.
Odds are you’ll never make it to the end of the course – especially if you’re new to Instagram marketing. Let the deep, mind-numbing courses be for those advanced Instagram marketers who already have some success with this platform under the belt.
The two most important things are:
1.Learning and 2. Implementing
2. Define Your Brand – And Your Audience – This is the step that a lot of small businesses especially home businesses miss – by a long shot. Think of it as this way – who are you to your audience? What are you selling – a service or a business? Who is your audience? This is where attraction marketing comes into place.
Remember, you have to capture your audience’s’ attention on Instagram. Are you able to produce visually stunning pictures, videos. stories, and ads that reel in your audience? According to Forbes, “Visual content in social media continues to dominate in terms of engagement.” This brings us to number three…
3. Who is in Charge of Your Instagram? – Like any social media platform, Instagram can be time consuming. Are you going to put in the effort to do IG yourself or you going to outsource it or hire an employee?
Who’s going to create your content (photos, graphics, etc)? Do you have the skills and time to do this yourself?
Remember, Instagram is all about images. This is why this is a very important step. Without images, your Instagram marketing is not going to produce the results you want it to – and thus you will have wasted your time.
4. Don’t Lose Your Traffic – This is a very important tip because this is where this can make or break your business. At some point you’ll want to drive traffic back to your website – so you can make the sale, capture the lead, or send the traffic to your physical storefront.
What websites will you be sending them to? Is it a blog? A landing/squeeze page? An ecommerce site? Are you sites up and ready to go? Hopefully you answered “yes” to that one.
Websites to Send Your Traffic To
When it comes to ecommerce you have a couple of top choices – you can use Shopify or Woo-Ecommerce (see this article) to create your ecommerce website.
Squeeze Pages/Landing Pages
If you plan to send your traffic to a landing page or to a squeeze page to build your list, there are three top options:
Funnelizer – As low as $49.97/mo – This software program is included inside of the marketing platform My Lead System Pro. This program has in-depth marketing training in its back office that is included in the cost of the membership. This is the least costly of the other two I’m about to mention…
ClickFunnels – $97-$297/mo – As you can see that is a steep price for anyone who is just starting out. Clickfunnels is more for the advanced marketer who’s doing upsells and downsells in their funnels.
Leadpages – as low as $25/mo (annually) / $37/mo (monthly) – NOTE: All the cool features Leadpages offers is not available at the lowest membership – you’ll have to bump it up to the $79/mo (monthly)/$48/mo (annually) membership. There are no in-depth marketing training.
Remember, must have an end goal for what you’re doing on social media especially on Instagram. That doesn’t mean that you have to send out a link with every image you post (you should not, by the way), but when you do post a link, obviously you must know where you want to send your traffic to and what you want them to do once they get there.
The biggest mistake you can make on Instagram, is not considering these four simple steps before you attempt to market on IG. Your time and effort is at a premium – there’s only so much you can personally do in 24 hours to build your business.
This is why you want to make sure you’re well informed, prepared, and educated before you embark on your Instagram journey. You want to put as many odds in your favor so that you can financially make Instagram a rewardable social media platform for your business.
