If you’re wondering what is prospecting in MLM you’re at the right place at the right time. You’re going to get the ‘secrets’ to doing smarter Prospecting in MLM so that you get more targeted leads and cash for your business. This could very well change the way you do your business online.
If those are the questions that are rolling around in your mind, then odds are you have an mlm business and you don’t know how to generate leads for it – yet.
By now you realize that if you can’t generate enough traffic to your home business website, you’ll make no money. In fact, your autoship and other business expenses will soon eat a big hole in your wallet as you struggle to stay afloat in your business.
Now, we don’t want that. So let’s just answer the question…
It’s a way to generate leads for your business. But that is not where it ends – it’s where it starts.
Let me explain…
I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the 97% failure rate in the home business industry. In fact, that failure rate is pretty much the same across all kinds of businesses – not just those in the network marketing industry.
Here’s what you really need to know….
Most people in network marketing are taught to go about prospecting in MLM all wrong. They’re taught to only focus on their warm market – friends and family only. Now this may work for some people, but it doesn’t work for most people.
The reason being is that a lot of your friends and family don’t look favorably on home based businesses especially those in the mlm industry.
“Those things don’t work!”
“They’re all scams!”
“You can’t make money from home!”
Have you ever heard those objections before? How did it make you feel? Did it make you feel more confident about your business or less confident?
By the time you’ve gone through just a handful of people in your warm market, you’re frustrated, jaded, and doubtful about your home business – and so you quit.
There’s nothing wrong with working your warm market, but you also want to add in people who are looking for what you’re selling.
Those that are searching for your product and opportunity are more targeted than your favorite aunt and uncle who can’t manage their own lives let alone a business venture.
So, what is targeted prospecting in MLM? You could say that it’s going after people who already have an interest in what you’re offering.
But let’s take it much further so that you can generate more leads and make more money…
If you’ve been involved in the mlm industry for any length of time, I’m sure you’ve heard that everyone is qualified for your business as long as they’re breathing!
I remember when I heard that from one of the owners of a network marketing company I used to be involved with back in the day. Although funny looking back on it now, at the time I believed it.
That silly belief cost me valuable time and money because I was chasing after all the wrong people. Don’t let this happen to you!
You see, the “everyone is your prospect” (and other tired theories) end up making you feel frustrated and incompetent, not to mention it sets you up for failure just like it did me back then.
Why? Because you go out and try to “sell” your product or your business opportunity to everybody you come in contact with and then feel like a loser when people repeatedly tell you they’re not interested.
Here’s the reality…not everyone is a prospect for your online home based business or product despite what you’ve been taught – shocker huh?
Although your upline and in some cases, your company has drilled it into your head that everyone is a prospect for what you’re marketing, you must keep in mind that you’re in business and not everyone wants what you’re selling.
What is prospecting in MLM if you can’t go after the most targeted prospects? Well, let’s put it like this…
If you don’t go after targeted prospects you will have invited a lot of frustration into your business life. We all know that frustrated people are not productive people.
If I could show you a way to reduce your frustration as you build your business online – would you be interested?
By now you know that by continually pitching your opportunity to all the wrong people that you’re making your potential prospects even more resistant to your proposition with your actions and you don’t even know it.
So who should you go after?
These are the most qualified prospects:
The Hunters – Go after prospects who are hunting for your exact or similar products and opportunities.
How to find these people: You can do some keyword research and find the keywords to optimize your blog posts with. You can also do pay per click.
The Opportunity Buyers – Go after people who alreadyy have bought into network marketing. They know that it’s not a scam or a pyramid scheme. They know the kind of money that can be made in this industry – they’ve been sold already.
How to find these people: Quite likely these prospects will already be in a company or another program so you have to lure them with business tools, systems, and training that can help them in their existing business.
Yes, you read that right. When you give value to other people you become more valuable to other people.
So, when the time is right and they’re interested in another business and you’ve provided them with valuable tools and training, they’ll be likely to join your opportunity.
Now, if you do this right, you’ll make an income from those that tell you “no” to your business. This program here makes it easy peezy to do just that.
What is prospecting in MLM if you can’t make money from the ‘no’s?’ Remember, you’ll get a lot of no’s on your entrepreneurial journey so why not capitalize on that? The smarter marketers have – why haven’t you?
These are the least qualified prospects:
The Opportunity Seekers – These people are looking for ways to make money, but they’re not sure what they want to do. These are the same people who will ask you if network marketing is a scam. If you’re tired of justifying mlm, then you’ll want to upgrade to the opportunity buyers and hunters.
These people also tend to jump in and out of programs because they don’t understand that it takes skills, patience and consistency to build a business.
They want to get rich overnight and want to put in the least amount of effort to do it. These people are the first to fall for those get rich schemes.
How to find these people: You will find them on pay to click sites and forums. You will find them promoting cash-gifting and high yield investment schemes. A Google search can reveal the places online where you’re likely to find them.
Warm Market – These are the people who know and trust you. If you have credibility and influence you will find that you’ll have little trouble getting people into your business as long as your warm market is very open-minded. For most people this is not always the case.
How to find these people: The typical way is to make a list of the people you know.
So, you’ve got the inside scoop on what is Prospecting in MLM – so that you’re going after the most targeted prospects. You also learned that if you position yourself right, you can make money off of the people that tell you “no” to your business opportunity.
